OPINIONS:
As far as we were concerned, we couldn't have had a better time. It was the middle of the week but still pretty busy. Our waiter was friendly and since we were there a little early she told us about the Happy Hour specials priced at $12.99. I mean who doesn't like to save a few bucks these days? They were also doing 2 for 1 martinis which we tried even though we're not really martini people. Both were great and we'll definitely be back.

I liked this place. Great service and cocktails. Awesome steaks too. Yum.
Also this place isn't like all those touristy spots on the pier. Feels like the locals eat here, which is cool.

My parents live in Pacific Grove and go to both of these restaurants alot. Lalla paloza and the Grill over by the theater. Whenever I visit we usually go and I always seem to have the coconut prawns! Ha!

I give the food 4 stars and the drinks 5 stars.
This is one of the nicer places in the area, but they're totally honest about not trying to be SUPER fancy. That said, they do have a good range of dishes to pick from we felt. Inexpensive appetisers all the way up to some pretty high-end steaks.
One of my favorite things is the free herby foccacia bread they serve with balsamic and olive oil, plus a plate of olives too. Fantastic. And they just kept them coming.
I had a really flavorful salmon dish and my hubby had a pork chop. Both were really good and came with nice side dishes. The only thing I didn't like was the garlic mashed potatoes, but that's just me because my husband raved about them to the waitress.
Our waitress highly recommended the "Mail Order Bride" martini so I tried one and, seriously, it was the best cocktail I think I've ever had. No fooling.

We ended up going here like three nights in one week because our meetings all went into the evenings and this place was open later and seemed to be the best thing around by far. Even mid-week they had a good crowd in the bar.
Drinks were what you'd expect from a martini joint: Good and strong.
The food was a nice surprise too because they had a crazy array of choices. Steaks. Pizzas. Pastas. Meatloaf.
Oh and don't forget that herb bread that's cooked right there in the pizza oven and brought out with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
The prices were a little up there but it's a nicer place and who cares because we expensed everything!

Been coming to Lalla's for years. Started out mostly coming for the drinks and bar scene. Now that we're a little older we tend to want the dining room atmosphere. The wine list is pretty extensive and I like that they focus on local wines from SLH.

I'm old fashioned when it comes to martinis, which means all the flavored ones aren't really my jam. No worries, the ladies liked them a bunch.
Foodwise, I was impressed. A solid 4-star place. By that I mean, this isn't the French Laundry in Napa Valley but it's not trying to be that either. The food's kinda quirky in an interesting way and mostly really tasty and well prepared. Not every dish, but like I said, 4 outta 5.
Warning: on the weekends the bar scene tends to get going and can be a little loud. Just sayin.

The bread with balsalmic and oil is to die for. OMG. I have to tell them to STOP bringing it or that's all I'd ever eat there. SO GOOOOOOD!
Okay, that's not true. I always seem to have room for an appletini. Or two ;)

By far my favorite late night spot in Downtown. I think they serve dinner untill 11 pm or so. And it's always good and they seem to switch up the menu just enough so there's some cool new stuff but also your old favorites are usually there as well.

The concierge at our hotel suggested Lallapalooza as one of the best places around for steak. Bingo. He was so right. My girlfriend got the smaller Filet Mignon and I got the big Baseball cut which was cooked perfectly. And you could tell the side dishes were picked to complement the steaks. Good stuff. The martinis were totally fine just a little too sweet for my taste. They had a nice choice of wines by the glass, so I did that instead.
